What can I say about the Leupold RCX-1? Per the subject heading, the image quality is bar none so far as trail cameras go. I even will go so far as to say that the image quality far surpasses my reconyx 500. The time lapse feature works well. I've found after you change a program on the controller, you want to make extra sure the camera took the command as it tends to be a little resistant to change and likes to stay with what was previously used. I personally believe there is a reason why the product is pronounced "Loop Holed". This is because You will find there are quite a number of loop holes in the design and functionality. Even at maximum sensitivity, you miss a lot. your target could walk right out in the middle of the sensor's area and not fire. The "Loop Hole" here is that the camera actually gets triggered only if something trips it along the edge of it's pir range. Another "Loop Holed" feature is that by far this camera is the pickiest unit concerning SD cards. There are a bunch it simply wont use, many of which made by PNY & Sandisk. You can get a nice clean video with the camera, but again, you need to work around another couple more "Loop Holds". The quantity of battery space supplied in the pack aren't adequate to run the video function. I managed to get it to run by rigging up a 420CCA battery rigged up to a 15 amp solar panel. In Summary, the RCX-1 is a pretty good camera image wise, but the triggering sensitivity and battery capacity needed to run it aren't so great. When I have this out in the field, I also use other trail cams to ensure I don't miss anything. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Leupold RCX-1 8MP Trail Camera" are high quality item.
