I have been running all my life, I'm 44 years old but started serious running in 2009. Depending on the race I'm training for I run anywhere from 40 - 100 miles a week. I run at least two speed workouts a week, 10 mile tempos (1:01 - 1:04) depending on how I feel, I have broken the hour mark a few times and interval sprints of .25 to .50 miles x 10 with .25 mile jogs in between. I also do a long run in the mountains alternating between 12 - 20 mile runs each week and on my off days run an easy 8-10 miles to keep loose. I love to run, and I love my running gear. On my crazy weeks leading up to a big race like Boston, I'm running almost 20 miles a day, so my relationship with my shoes is very important to me.

Sorry for the training schedule but I wanted you to know where I'm coming from, so you can evaluate whether or not my opinion matters to you.

Ok, now down to these shoes. I run on all kinds of shoes, trying to find a good lightweight shoe that supported my feet but didn't weigh me down. I love the Sketcher GoRuns, at 7.6 ounces for an 11.5 they are super light. They can handle the marathon distances, no problem, but you do have to know how to run. For any of you heal strikers out there, this may not be your shoe, until you first learn how to run. I recommend reviewing the "pose running method" videos on YouTube by Dr. Nicholas Romanov, do the drills, also get a slow motion video made of your running from the side angle and behind you, and train out all your running flaws so you are an efficient runner, this will be very beneficial. Also, try running on a treadmill in front of a mirror to help you keep tabs on your form. These shoes can help you in the process as they encourage good running form. Ryan Hall and Meb Keflezighi have great running form, check them out and mimic their technique.

When you first put these shoes on you will notice that your heals don't touch the ground. You will also notice they are sock like, very soft and comfortable. You will feel the ground under the balls of your feet but the center of the foot there is great protection from small rocks, etc. There is also great ventilation in the uppers of the shoe. You don't have to break-in these shoes, they are race ready out of the box!

Let's talk about the cost, I've run on many $125+ shoes and I've not found the cost of the shoe to be commensurate with the performance or comfort of the shoe. I've also looked at some shoes from New Balance for over $250, and at that price, they better run the race for me! What the heck! Some of the different color options in the GoRuns can run as low as $50 when you catch a deal and you can get $65 options all day long and at most $85 for the popular colors.

If your on the fence about these, as I was, buy the $65 GoRuns and try them out in conjunction with some technique corrective training you can find online and see if you don't improve your speed, run with less pain in your knees and lower back, it should disappear if you are doing it right, and see if you don't start saving a bunch of money on your running shoes. Since I replace my shoes every 400-600 miles, every couple months, I've been saving a lot of money with Sketchers. Who knew that I'd be running on Sketchers, Sketchers! They really surprised me. I don't run on any other shoes now, I have finally found my perfect shoe. I've been running on them since Dec. 2011 and I love them.

these shoes are in fact very comfortable, but woe is you if you walk on any surface that may have small pebbles or rocks. The soles on these things grab onto rocks and won't let them go until you stop and pry them out with your fingers. Or you can just deal with the scraping of rocks against concrete every time you take a step.

It's pretty annoying and I wish I could take them back honestly. The places I walk have rocks everywhere and so this ended up being a terrible choice in running shoes.

I gave it three stars because they are very comfy and are very pleasant to walk/run in otherwise.

I have the Realflex and saw the video on the Smoothflex so decided to get it. It is quite a bit cheaper than the Realflex. Construction quality is similar. The differences lie in the sole. It is a firmer foam that is used. It also has less nodes and a more wider bottom. Definitely flexibility of the sole is less. There is also more rubber lining the foam at the very toe, slightly less in the forefoot and about the same in the heel. I find that in the Realflex, areas without rubber wears much faster. I would guess that the sole on the Smoothflex would be a little more durable. You definitely lose a little performance with the shoe because of the added weight and diminished flex in the sole but this is still an excellent shoe and great for casual jogging or training. I will say that the Realflex/Smoothflex line are my favorite running shoes that I have ever owned in my life!

Very comfortable shoe with great additional cushioning. I love the color combination...colorful without being over the top. Osprey Momentum 34-Litre Commuter Pack (Bamboo, Small/Medium) Review

Ive travelled internationally for my job for over a decade and I've come to expect a lot from the bags I use. In my early days, I had entire packs come apart flinging my stuff everywhere. I decided a long time ago that the bag you trust all of your priceless personal items and expensive gadgets to should not be a cheap piece of junk.

I've used Osprey packs for years, yet they have never had a day pack/computer pack that worked for me, mostly because of their ultralight design approach. The Momentum 34 hits a new high. It has a nice stiff back that protects your laptop and props the bag up on its own without losing comfort. It has great organization and really shouldn't be confined to the bike commute. The two pockets on the shoulder straps are amazing, however, the key zip attachment needs a quick clip and not a O-ring.

My only gripe is that every decent pack needs at least one dedicated bottle/thermos pocket. The momentum has two side pockets at the bottom that are actually very nice for keeping a power brick, cliff bars, etc... i.e. items too for the main compartment of the bag, but too small for the pen/key pocket. When you open the side pockets there is a little mesh lining that keep the items from falling out yet handy at the same time. It's really a great idea. The problem is that these two side pockets are not large enough to keep a bottle/thermos mug. They will fit a can of soda or a 12 oz water bottle, but that's it and not conveniently at all. The thing that saves the Momentum for me is the rear "dump" pocket. It is high and narrow with a bit of stretch to it so a 16-20oz bottle slides in very nicely. It's just wide enough that I can slide my thermos mug in there too. This pocket is dedicated for a U-lock so I'm not sure what Osprey was thinking by not having a water bottle pocket; however, whether by accident or intent, the dump pocket is perfect for people that need to keep liquids at hand!

Honestly, if you want a pack that is well thought through buy from a company that is primarily a pack company like Osprey. NOT The North Face, or many others. Marmot makes great jackets, but horrible packs.

I'm a mid\forefoot runner, however never could settle for the minimalist trend. My regular runner shoes are Mizuno Prophecy & Asics numbus.

Never tried Reebok before, but the Zig is out there for a while so thought about giving it a try. However, for me - it's just not it.

If you're a heel striker maybe it will. I did like the upper a lot, however that doesn't help with unmatched midsole.

Reebok, in general, use good *material* but there's luck of sports engineering. IMO
