With its Lithium Ion Polymer CORE battery, the TIKKA XP2 CORE headlamp is adapted to intensive use. This headlamp integrates two light sources as well as a Wide Angle lens with assisted open-close feature, allowing the user to choose between a long distance focused beam and flood beam proximity lighting. It is equipped with a white high-output LED and a red LED. The red LED provides back-up lighting useful for preserving night vision, or strobe lighting for increased safety. Three white lighting modes (maximum, economic and strobe). Two red lighting modes: maximum and strobe. Type of lighting (white or red) is selected by pressing for two seconds on the push-button (the last color used remains in memory for the next use). Choose between wide or focused beams with the Wide Angle lens. Signal whistle: for communication or calling for help when visibility is limited. SOS Morse code illustration on the whistle. I have used this item for over 1 year very frequently. I work at night and love the very bright light it produces. It lasts me all night on high. It easily switches to low when needed. It also blinks. It recharges in my car with my micro USB cell charger or at home with the compact charger. The Indicator makes it easy to see when it's fully charged. It's lightweight and produces much more natural true-color light than any of it's competitors. I love the flip up for a broad pattern of light and the focus beam when the deflector is out of the way. It's great for camping, hiking, walking the dogs, night-gardening, kayaking, searching for Bigfoot, putting in Foley catheters, looking for lost dogs, cleaning out a wound at night, putting in stitches in the back country, looking for your lost glasses in the dark, skiing, having the lights turn off on you in Walmart suddenly, emergency situations, or living in a new apartment until you unpack your lamps! It fits my head (and most any size head) well, incorporates a whistle and the "SOS" pattern. I don't leave home without it. It's also super wonderful for finding your lost earring under your car seat at 3am. I love how you can tilt it so it shines farther in front of you or more close up. I can't say enough about how perfect this thing is. I own 2 and will buy more. I have given as gifts. the AAA battery thing does not work. The conventional "rechargeable" batteries require a lot of fumbling and don't last nearly as long as this one. The design on this is truly wonderful. No fumbling, one button, easy, good. You don't have to scroll through low and blink to turn off, just hold down the 1 button. Easy. beautiful.
