My daughter finally decided to show some interest in learning to ride a bike just before her 7th birthday so we went to the high school where I work (tons of open space and more importantly, no cars) to teach her. She got in her little 16" bike we bought her a while back that she had no interest in for so long and believe it or not, she took right off. No issue at all. I think because she is so adept on her Razr Scooter, the balance thing wasn't an issue.

Now that she is enjoying riding a bike, we bought this bike for her for her birthday. She loved it. It seems to be built pretty well. The one issue I did have was the front fork seemed a bit too narrow for the front tire. I had to strain a whole lot to force them wider before the wheel would go on. I'm 6 foot 250 pounds and it took every bit of strength to widen the gap about a quarter of an inch. Even then, to get the tire hub in I still had to hold it open a tad while my wife put it in. Other than that, no issue with assembly.

Pros: 1) The seat has an easy release lever for seat adjustment. That makes it nice so its easy to adjust anywhere. It came with a kickstand. I've seen a lot of bikes where the kickstand is separate and you have to fork out extra $$$ for one. My daughter actually loves the kickstand. I guess her friends at school don't have them on their bikes. I don't know, but it made her happy. 2) It has a hand brake. My daughter still uses the pedals for the brake but I am glad it has the hand brake for when she wants to use it. It did take a little adjusting but it works great.

Cons: 1) This is what the bike is advertised as: Huffy Girl's Coastal Bike, Stardust White/Glitter Pink, 20-Inch When you advertise it as Glitter Pink, but the pink paint is in no way glittery, thats a bit of a let down and bad advertising. My daughter is what I call a Princess Tomboy. She loves to get dirty and play rough, but also loves to do it in a dress with all the accessories for dress-up. It is just a visual aesthetic, but still, it says its Glitter Pink.

I would recommend this product to friends/family as it is a good bike and looks to be well built. After getting the front wheel on, the rest of the assembly was easy.
