About 6 years ago, I bought my first pair of Columbia trail shoes for hiking. I found them to be the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned and in that time, put a lot of miles on them. But all good things come to an end and it was time to replace them. Even though I am not one who thought that buying shoes online was a good idea (it seems that I can try on the same size of different shoes in the store and they all fit differently), I decided that perhaps shoes from the same manufacture would fit the same. So I searched Amazon specifically for Columbia shoes. I do not like flashy shoes with intense colors so I gravitated to these (Verdant/Cordovan). I can say that they are just as comfortable, if not more comfortable, than my original pair. I have only been on 4 hikes with these so far, so I cannot comment on durability, but my old Columbia trail shoes lasted me a good long time and I beat the heck out of them, so I anticipate these being just as tough. Great fit, comfortable and just the right style.
