Otanashi Noh Ken-Razor-Sharp Edge Bk Bla Review

Excellent knife for every day carry. The profile is very slim, overall weight is less than most knives of this size and the pocket clip is attached at the very end of the handle. These feature allow for very deep pocket carry that is not noticeable to you or anyone else.

On the negative side: 1) the black coating is not well done and after a few months I've noticed visible wear on all corners and on the blade, 2) in order to achieve the slim profile, the blade tip goes all the way to the back of the handle when folded. It will bite you if any skin gets into the back of the handle. 3) Due to the low weight of the thin blade, it is difficult (without practice) to get the blade out and locked as with many gravity knives.

Overall it's an impressive knife. The radical point and sharp edge makes penetration into most materials effortless. Cutting open a plastic bag feels like you are cutting air. Blade length is more than most pocket carry knives, although I wish they had made this in 5.5in instead of 4.52in and added a little more thickness.
